An Algerian 🇩🇿folk dance that appeared in the 16th century and is part of the heritage of Western Algeria. The popular dance is performed at weddings, special occasions, and seasons of harvesting agricultural crops. It traces it origin to expressing the joy of victory after a battle. They perform the dance by pounding the ground with their feet, to prove their solidity, holding sticks, the symbol of weapons.
